( Butler, Kentucky ) - Kentucky State Police say they were called in to help animal control officers in Pendleton County on Monday.
They were called to a farm on KY 177 near US 27 on Monday. There, they found 49 horse carcasses on the property. The owner, 63-year-old Larry Browning is charged with 49 counts of not disposing of a dead animal. Investigators say more charges are likely.
There were 32 living horses on the property, and animal experts say 14 of them are emaciated, and are being seized.
