( Columbus ) Play hadn't even started Saturday night at Crew Stadium when the scoreboard caught fire just after 7:10pm. The Crew and DC United were warming up when black smoke began emanating from the screen, with flames seen a short time later.

Players were sent to their locker rooms and the stands around the scoreboard were cleared to make room for fire engines, that doused the fire. The fire was put out in about half an hour. No one was injured.
