Search Continues for Child Swept Away in Great Miami River

(Whitewater Twp ) - Dozens of emergency crews were dispatched Monday afternoon to the Great Miami River near an area where the Whitewater River feeds into it.

Police say 8-year-old Bryan Nolasco Morales fell into the river and was swept away around 4p.m. Monday.  Boats, dive teams, a helicopter, and dozens of searchers have been covering the area. Mutual aid was brought in from nearby communities like Dearborn County. Even volunteer outfits like Texas Equusearch has been on scene, but the child has not yet been found.

At 9p.m. Monday, the search was changed from a rescue to a recovery effort.

On Tuesday, the search moved further downstream near the 3100 block of Lawrenceburg Road.

A child, described by dispatchers as being between 8 and 10-years-old, fell into the river and drifted out of sight of his family. Hamilton County brought in boats, dive crews, a helicopter, and more. Mutual aid was brought in from nearby communities like Dearborn County. Even volunteer outfits like Texas Equusearch has been on scene, but the child has not yet been found.

At about 9pm, the search was changed over from a rescue to a recovery effort.
