The third phase of its Africa exhibit is opening this weekend, at the Cincinnati Zoo

Visitors can view the zoo's new African lions through a 12-foot-tall glass wall and see a giraffe herd from a newly expanded deck, that includes a covered tree house.

The first two phases of the exhibit were completed in 2010, and include a flamingo exhibit, an expanded giraffe yard and a cheetah encounter where visitors can watch cheetahs run.

The zoo is trying to raise about 12 million dollars to complete the final two phases, that will include zebras, gazelles and African birds.

The final phase will let visitors view hippos above and below the water.
